Health and Wellness Series: Be Fit, Healthy and Happy

This week, we will have an Author Talk With Dr. Katie Takayasu.

Join Dr. Katie Takayasu for an invigorating and educational conversation! Have you heard that a plant-forward lifestyle is better for you, but you don't know why you should make plant-based foods a bigger part of your diet? Or maybe you understand the why, but you've had trouble figuring out how to improve your vegetable intake. Integrative Medicine Physician Dr. Katie Takayasu will help you understand the reasons for prioritizing plant-powered foods, approachable science lessons that explain how a plant-forward diet can correct issues like inflammation and hormonal imbalances, and how small, steady shifts in your lifestyle can calm and refresh your brain and body.

Dr. Katie Takayasu is an Integrative Medicine Physician, author or "Plants First: A Physician's Guide to Wellness Through a Plant-Forward Diet", and speaker in the holistic health space, bridging the gap between traditional Western medicine and the evidenced-based complementary health tools of nutrition, acupuncture, meditation, botanicals and lifestyle optimization. She works one-on-one helping patients to recognize their own innate wisdom for finding balance in the mind, body and spirit and in group settings with the gentle but effective "Dr. Katie Detox". She loves being with other people who bring her joy, especially her husband and two sons. Discover Dr. Katie's Life Kitchen at www.Dr.Katie.com, on instagram @DoctorKatie, or in her New Canaan and Darien CT practice, Wellness Insights. Dr. Katie will be available after her talk to sell and autograph her book.
