WCSU’s Coffeehouse and Best Darn Jazz Club open to the public

DANBURY, Connecticut — Western Connecticut State University invites the public to attend and/or participate in its Midtown  Coffeehouses held most Thursday evenings in the Wolves Den, located in  the lower level of the university’s Midtown campus Student Center, 181  White Street in Danbury. The Coffeehouses include open mics from 8 – 10  p.m. (sign-ups start at 7:30 p.m.) and on some nights there are special  performers. The events are free, and complimentary snacks and beverages  are offered; donations are accepted.

Upcoming 2022 Coffeehouse dates and performances are:

  • Oct. 20: Magician Joseph Tran
  • Oct. 27: Spoken Word
  • Nov. 3: WCSU Student Jazz Ensemble
  • Nov. 10: Daniel Madeson
  • Nov. 17: Comedian Cat Alverado
  • Dec. 1: Comedian Sam Morrison
  • Dec. 8: TBD
Additionally, WCSU hosts its Best Darn Jazz Club in the Wolves Den,  another event free to students, faculty/staff, alumni and the public.  Along with live jazz music in an intimate, club-like setting, light  snacks and a cash bar with wine and beer for those 21 and over are  available. The next Best Darn Jazz Club event is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 11, 2022, at 8 – 10 p.m.
