Bridgeport-Stamford-Norwalk metro surpass Nashville-Davidson-Murfreesboro-Franklin in 2019

The Bridgeport-Stamford-Norwalk metro area exported $8 billion in 2019, more than exports from Nashville-Davidson-Murfreesboro-Franklin in 2019, according to the International Trade Administration.

A study from the Brookings Institute found competition between areas within the United States increases exports, which in turn generates stronger sales and more jobs for American workers.

The Bridgeport-Stamford-Norwalk metro area consists of one counties.

The Nashville-Davidson-Murfreesboro-Franklin metro area comprises nine counties exporting $7.9 billion in 2019.

The metro area with the most exports was Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land with $129.7 billion exported.
