SketchUp: Your Virtual Kitchen Makeover in 3D

Event Details

If you’ve been thinking about a kitchen makeover, wouldn’t it be great to use technology to visualize its new layout and styling?

Join us in Danbury Library’s MakerLab to learn 2nd level features of SketchUp, a free web-based 3D mockup tool. In this 90 minute session in a small group setting, we will start on the big 4K screen by drawing a floor plan, walls, windows, and doorways of a typical kitchen such as yours. Next, we will shop through SketchUp’s virtual warehouse and select cabinetry, countertops, appliances, and other decor items.

And then the real magic…We will go 3D with a virtual walk through of different layout and design choices! Though our time is limited, you should take home enough knowledge to spend many hours modeling your own space, and over time perhaps even fine tuning your new marketable skill!

Back in September, part 1 in this series explored the basics of SketchUp capabilities. If you missed it, you are still welcome to attend this session. When you register, the confirmation email will include some web links for self study of important skills you missed.
