On Friday, Feb. 28, former Danbury High School standout Javon Hernandez’s current college team, the Jefferson Rams, won 11-1 in their NCAA Division II baseball game against the Clarion Golden Eagles.
The game took place at Fleming Stadium. This was their first matchup against the Golden Eagles this season.
The Rams’ next game is scheduled for Saturday, March 1 at 11 a.m. at Fleming Stadium against West Virginia State Yellow Jackets.
In January 2025, Mecklenburg County Magistrate Teresa Stokes signed the release of DeCarlos Brown Jr., a repeat arrestee later accused of fatally stabbing Iryna Zarutska on Charlotte’s light-rail.
Mecklenburg County received $3.3 million from a Chicago-based political foundation after leaders agreed to “reduce the use of incarceration” for repeat criminals like DeCarlos Brown, Jr.
The week starting Monday, Sept. 8 will feature action from these former Housatonic Valley area high school stars.
