On Sunday, March 23, former Danbury High School standout Gianna Iaquinto’s current college team, the Hofstra Pride, lost 9-0 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens.
The game took place at Bill Edwards Stadium. This was their third matchup against the Fightin’ Blue Hens this season.
The Pride’s next game is scheduled for Friday, March 28 at 5 p.m. at Amanda Littlejohn Stadium against Campbell Fighting Lady Camels.
In January 2025, Mecklenburg County Magistrate Teresa Stokes signed the release of DeCarlos Brown Jr., a repeat arrestee later accused of fatally stabbing Iryna Zarutska on Charlotte’s light-rail.
Mecklenburg County received $3.3 million from a Chicago-based political foundation after leaders agreed to “reduce the use of incarceration” for repeat criminals like DeCarlos Brown, Jr.
The week starting Monday, Sept. 8 will feature action from these former Housatonic Valley area high school stars.
