This episode of “This Week in the City” highlights Make Music Day, one of Danbury’s amazing arts and cultural events.

Make Music Day Danbury is a part of the international Make Music Day movement which brings free, community-wide, outdoor musical celebrations to hundreds of cities worldwide! Every year, the celebration is held on June 21st, the summer solstice, in more than 1000 communities around the world.

Make Music Day Danbury featured musicians of all abilities and music from any genre. Sidewalks, parks, front porches, and public spaces throughout the city will become stages for local musicians to perform and for all to enjoy. It’s all for the love of music! Make Music Day Danbury is brought to you by the Danbury Music Centre as part of our mission to sponsor musical organizations in Greater Danbury.

Encouraging both instrumental and vocal, in which persons of a wide variety of musical backgrounds can study and perform classical and modern compositions to improve their musical ability and to share the joy of music with the people of the greater Danbury area.
